The program This program will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to provide support services to people living at home and in long-term care facilities and to function as integral members of the health care team. As a graduate, you'll be able to effectively communicate with clients, families and members of the health care team. You'll also provide safe and competent care for individual clients who are experiencing physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioural challenges. Graduate career opportunities Retirement homes, nursing homes, homes for the aged, community agencies, independent practice Admission requirements OSSD or equivalent • Grade 12 English (C or U ) is strongly recommended and will be used in selection. Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older) and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED and equivalency testing.
