Monday, June 22 | 10 a.m. Alison Houston (class of 2007) is Vice President, People Operations & Strategy at The M Group of Companies and a proud graduate of Georgian College. Ali is passionate about helping businesses grow through people- centered leadership, strategy and innovation, while creating environments where individuals can thrive, find meaningful work and feel a true sense of belonging. She also serves as a co-chair on the Georgian College Alumni Executive Council, supporting alumni engagement and sponsorship initiatives that foster collaboration, community impact and lifelong connection. With a background spanning HR, IT, operations and coaching, Ali brings a thoughtful and inspiring perspective on growth, resilience and living in alignment with purpose. Through her work, she's committed to empowering people and organizations to lead authentically, embrace change and make a positive difference in the communities they serve. Alison Houston Class of 2007 Vice President, People Operations & Strategy | The M Group of Companies Featured alumni speaker Fred Hacker is from Midland, Ontario. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto. He was appointed King's Counsel (formerly Queen's Counsel) in 1985 and has recently studied theology at Tyndale Seminary. He practiced law for 40 years and was managing partner of the regional law firm now known as HGR Graham Partners. He was the founding chair of the Midland Cultural Centre where he hosted a live televised program interviewing famous Canadians. He's the chair of Life4Kids Canada and a director of Life4Kids Kenya, which operates a home for abandoned and homeless boys in Kenya. He's also a 52-year member and past president of the Midland Rotary Club. He's the chair of The Weber Foundation, a charitable foundation that has donated more than $50 million to community initiatives. He's a member, former elder, and sometimes lay preacher at Knox Presbyterian Church in Midland. He has been married to Barb for 57 years and they have three wonderful daughters and four spectacular grandchildren.
