Automotive – OMVIC Certification
The Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council's
(OMVIC) certification course covers the laws,
regulations and practices governing the purchase,
sale and lease of motor vehicles in Ontario. This
course is mandatory for those individuals looking
to pursue registration with OMVIC. There is
a thorough explanation of the Motor Vehicle
Dealers Act (MVDA) (the key statute governing the
registration of dealers and salespersons) and the
role of the OMVIC in the administration of that Act.
Students study the MVDA, general regulations,
Code of Ethics regulations, key principles of the
Sales of Goods Act, Consumer Protection Act,
MVDA advertising, contracts, disclosure and
rescission. Individuals who pass the course and
become registered with OMVIC may use the
designation CALE – Certified in Automotive Law
and Ethics.

Additional information
Enrolment in this course does NOT automatically register
you with the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC).
