Some of the ways WE ENHANCED THE GEORGIAN EXPERIENCE through digital innovation:
• More than 30 students from cross-disciplinary
programs collaborated to retrofit a 1972
VW Westfalia into an electric vehicle using
off-the-shelf technology. The project
showcased the potential of converting older
vehicles into cleaner and more efficient ones
that can help reduce carbon emissions in the
transportation sector.
• Georgian was one of the first Ontario colleges
to launch a near real-time admissions system
and new applicant portal, making it easier than
ever for students to apply.
• We signed memorandums of alliance across
Canada allowing elementary, secondary
and postsecondary students access to the
college's award-winning Indigenous virtual
reality worlds as part of our efforts to ensure
language and cultural preservation.
• Students collaborated with Bayshore
Specialty RX, a recognized provider of
home and community health-care services,
to develop innovative solutions powered
by artificial intelligence. Their projects
helped to support the optimization of
schedules, lower wait times and improve
patient outcomes. Bayshore was so
impressed they hired one of our
graduating students!
• We reinforced our commitment to access
by providing 110 people who didn't meet
admission requirements with personalized
support and pathways to get into Georgian
through our unique college entry advisor
initiative. They're all now one step closer
to achieving their dreams!
