Managing a successful event of any size requires extensive know-how and planning. Event Management will help students gain the skills and experience to prepare for exciting careers in a fast-paced industry that relies on client satisfaction. The curriculum, designed by industry professionals, enables students to explore current trends and technologies that drive the industry. Includes opportunities to gain hands-on experience in planning, marketing, executing and evaluating events. By the end of the program, students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience to find employment in the event industry. Communities hold festivals and public events, conferences and live events. There's also a demand for qualified professional planners in event planning in the not-for-profit sector. Graduates may find employment with charitable organizations/not-for-profits, community and sports associations, meeting and convention planning, hotels and resorts, convention centres, destination management and marketing and PR firms. 12 program courses, and 1 field placement. Diploma programs PROGRAM DETAILS CREDENTIAL CAREER OPTIONS GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS Golf Industry Management GLFI n This program is designed to prepare students for exciting employment opportunities in the $15 billion Canadian golf industry, both on the golf course and off. Theoretical concepts taught in the classroom are blended with practical learning opportunities gained through exposure to various golf facilities. At the golf course level, students examine the many aspects of golf operations such as agronomy, hospitality, retail and golf event planning. Away from the golf course, students have the opportunity to explore a variety of career paths at facilities that support the game. Students gain professional and managerial skills for industry and self-employment, as well as practical experience through participation in a work term and extensive field trips to golf courses and golf industry properties. GeorgianCollege.ca/PTGLFI OCAS application required (program code: GLFX) Ontario College Diploma Golf professional, pro shop manager, retail manager, and equipment sales representative, director of golf/head professional, golf instructor, general manager, clubhouse manager, course superintendent, food and beverage manager, golf equipment sales and management, and golf technology. 19 program courses, 2 communications courses, 3 general education courses, and 1 co-op work term.
