Create images that move your audience while expanding your digital photography skills with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. This course is taught by an experienced Lightroom user and teacher. This module is part of the Photography Essentials micro-certificate. PHTO 0079 21 HRS | BA Wedding Photography In this module, students explore traditional and photojournalistic styles of wedding photography. Topics include posing, sequencing of shots, etiquette, and options to deliver finished prints or digital copy. This module is part of the Photography Essentials micro- certificate. PHTO 0075 15 HRS | BA Digital Camera Techniques Participants use the various modes and features of a camera to create dynamic images. This hands-on course introduces participants to basic digital imaging terms and concepts. Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment. This module is part of the Photography Essentials micro-certificate. PHTO 0025 l 36 HRS | BA Nature and Landscape Photography Capture images of nature and landscape like a pro. Learn about equipment, accessories, and tips specific to outdoor photography. This course consists of classroom and outdoor session(s) so you can put your newly acquired knowledge into practice. This module is part of the Photography Essentials micro-certificate. PHTO 0054 l 18 HRS | BA, SGB Photography: Starting a Business Students learn the basics for setting up a small business to make use of their photographic skills. Topics cover basic aspects of operating a small business with an emphasis on the photography market. This module is part of the Photography Essentials micro-certificate. PHTO 0059 l 15 HRS | BA Photoshop for Photographers Using industry-standard software, participants learn fundamental photographic editing, retouching, and creative and composition tools and techniques. NOTE: instruction takes place on Mac computers at the college. This module is part of the Photography Essentials micro-certificate. PHTO 0080 l 21 HRS | BA Portraiture Participants are introduced to techniques and tricks used to photograph people, and learn to capture uniqueness and personality through portrait photography. Proper use of equipment, lighting, composition and posing are covered. Practise new skills with opportunities to photograph subjects. This module is part of the Photography Essentials micro-certificate. PHTO 0066 l 18 HRS | BA Real Estate Photography Learn photography tips and techniques to give your listings a professional look that will stand out from the rest. Prospective home buyers may spend more time looking at your listing when there are dynamic visual images to view! Chances are, if they like what they see, they'll want to see more. Note: participants require their own equipment. This module is part of the Photography Essentials micro-certificate. PHTO 0081 l 15 HRS | B Small Product Photography With the right presentation, small products mean big business. Students gain experience and learn to effectively photograph small products, using their current and newly acquired photography skills to find creative and dynamic solutions for product advertising. This module is part of the Photography Essentials micro-credential certificate. PHTO 0076 l 18 HRS OTHER DESIGN, ARTS AND LANGUAGE COURSES GeorgianCollege.ca/PTDESIGNARTS American Sign Language (ASL) Beginner 1 In partnership with Deaf Access Simcoe Muskoka, this immersive introductory course focuses on basic vocabulary and an introduction to various aspects of deafness. Students will learn how to introduce themselves, exchange personal information, discuss living situations and gain knowledge of Deaf culture and community. Course text (used in both ASL Beginner 1 and 2 courses) is required. COMU 0071 | 36 HRS American Sign Language (ASL) Beginner 2 In partnership with Deaf Access Simcoe Muskoka, this immersive course builds on skills and knowledge obtained in ASL Beginner 1. Students are further introduced to linguistic and cultural information. Topics include talking about family and activities. Students expand their conversational range from talking about themselves and surroundings to storytelling. Focus includes re-telling stories, role- shift, classifiers and engaging their audience. Students will require the text materials from ASL Beginner 1.
