Georgian offers
We're also addressing high demand for
tradespeople in the local and provincial market
and expanding our skilled trades offerings.
This includes substantial renovations at our
Barrie Campus to accommodate renewed
programs and support program growth as well as
efforts to increase participation in the trades from
underrepresented groups, including women
and Indigenous communities.
The health-care sector is facing an enormous
skills shortage, exacerbated by the COVID-19
pandemic. With the support of our partners and
government, Georgian is responding to ensure
our communities have the highly skilled and
compassionate workers we need.
• Launched an Honours Bachelor of Science –
Nursing degree, a first for Central Ontario,
so students can study closer to home and are
more likely to remain in our communities after
graduation
• Ran several cohorts of an Accelerated Personal
Support Worker program to get students out
into the field more quickly to provide care
