Use YOUR PAST to carry YOU FORWARD If you've taken courses at another accredited institution, you may be able to use them toward course exemptions for Georgian degrees. There are two ways we can evaluate your past experience: Please note there are fees associated with transfer credit and PLAR evaluations and requests should be submitted at least 60 days prior to the start of your program. Available for degree programs only. Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) If you're going into a program where you have relevant work or life experience in that field, you may be eligible to receive credit for it. You may be asked to submit a portfolio or take a challenge exam. To find out if a course is eligible for credit through PLAR, email us at CTCRegistrar@georgiancollege.ca. Transfer credit Start your research by using our online Transfer Equivalency Tool at GeorgianCollege.ca/CPL. If you discover some matches, submit your transfer request. You may be eligible for individual transfers (e.g. general education or communication courses), block transfers (up to a full year of credits), or advanced standing.
