Must be a registered practical nurse and provide CNO license number upon registration. HSCI 0119 | 42 HRS Fee: $328.02 Rhythm Interpretation Students acquire the comprehensive knowledge and skills required to accurately interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias. Students will build on entry-to-practice knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the heart, thorax and lungs, and peripheral vascular system. Students learn to interpret, evaluate, and respond to pertinent diagnostic data in a timely and appropriate manner. Prerequisite: College of Nurses Ontario (CNO) license. RNRS 1048 | 42 HRS | BA Fee: $344.40 Essential Skills for Supportive Care − Personal Hygiene and Elimination In this course, students examine the provision of personal hygiene and grooming to a client and their urinary and bowel elimination needs. This course is part of the Essential Skills for Supportive Care micro-credential certificate. HSCI 0276 | 6 HRS l Fee: $67 Essential Skills for Supportive Care − Basic Math and Assisting with Medical Administration In this course, students focus on basic math principles and the role of an entry-level health-care provider in medication assistance and administration. This course is part of the Essential Skills for Supportive Care micro-credential certificate. HSCI 0277 | 6 HRS l Fee: $67 Supportive Lab Skills This intensive one-day, six-hour training session includes the demonstration of and practical exercises of housekeeping skills such as bed-making, laundry, basic meal prep, environmental services and skill demonstration of lifts and transfers, personal care and infection control. Students hone skills through hands-on demonstrations and receive specific feedback aimed at ensuring confidence in their ability to provide safe and effective care. HSCI 0291 | 6 HRS | BA l Fee: $123 OTHER HEALTH AND WELLNESS COURSES GeorgianCollege.ca/PTHEALTH Basic Phlebotomy This six-hour course includes theory and simulated lab practice. Content includes anatomy of the venous system, review of anticoagulants, tourniquets, cleaning solutions, needle collection systems, and venipuncture techniques. Prerequisite: students must be enrolled in their last semester or have completed one of the following programs: RN, RPN, RT, Lab Technician, Medical Administration, Paramedic or PSW. HSCI 0012 | 6 HRS | BA, OS l Fee: $392.75 Dialysis Technical Assistant This course provides theory and observational opportunities for students to learn the skills and best practices related to the role of the dialysis technical assistant.
