Students will develop a viable business plan that will meet industry-specific regulatory requirements and establish the foundation needed to begin their business operations. With a specific focus on doing business in Ontario, participants will build the skills and knowledge needed to comply with relevant health and safety regulations, follow requirements of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), adhere to industry and labour laws, and fulfill obligations relating to mandatory employee training. Students obtain a digital badge after completing each of the four micro-credentials and then an overall Establishing a Contracting Small Business in Ontario stacked micro-credential badge attesting to the successful completion of all four. GeorgianCollege.ca/PTSBMC No application required Recognition of Achievement micro- credential 4 mandatory courses Sales for Small Business – micro-credential SSMC The Sales for Small Business stackable micro-credential program is comprised of four competency-based micro-credentials. It is designed for small business entrepreneurs and/or their employees who have expertise with the product or service they are marketing, but little to no experience in business-to-consumer (B2C) sales. Participants will explore the skills relating to positioning products and services as customer needs-based solutions, building virtual relationships with customers and networking across the business community, prospecting, leveraging technologies for social selling, and negotiating, closing and following up on sales. GeorgianCollege.ca/PTSSMC No application required Recognition of Achievement micro- credential 4 mandatory courses Teaching and Training Adults – micro-credential TATA This micro-credential is for anyone interested in teaching and training in industry and/or an academic environment. It is designed to develop the skills and knowledge of novices and refine the skills of current practitioners. Each module emphasizes principles involved in the adult learning process. Coaching, facilitation skills, active participation, and learning by doing are stressed. The skills, ideas, expertise and knowledge of the participants are used as key resources in learning about instructing adults.
