WHAT YOU NEED TO GET IN Admission requirements are different for each program. Find program-specific requirements on pages 60 to 90 of this book and online at GeorgianCollege.ca/full-time-programs. You'll also need to take the following steps to get into Georgian: STUDENT CATEGORY BASIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS High school students You need to complete your high school diploma. If you receive a conditional acceptance, make sure you meet requirements before starting at Georgian. Requirements could include passing courses, maintaining your grades, and more. If you don't obtain your high school diploma, visit GeorgianCollege.ca/ACP to check out Georgian's Academic and Career Preparation program. Mature applicants If you'll be 19 years of age or older as of the first day of classes at Georgian and don't have a high school diploma, you can apply as a mature student. Here are ways you may meet requirements: • Complete your Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) or your Ontario High School Equivalency (GED) certificate through Georgian's Academic and Career Preparation program. Visit GeorgianCollege.ca/ACP for details (not applicable to degrees). • Take courses at an Independent Learning Centre or another learning site recognized by the Ministry of Education. • Take an English or math equivalency test through GeorgianCollege.ca/testing-services (not applicable to degrees). • Take equivalent credit courses at Georgian or another recognized college or university. Applicants from postsecondary institutions If you've taken courses from another accredited postsecondary institution, you may meet admission requirements and be eligible for transfer credits. Visit GeorgianCollege.ca/gradcerts to learn more. Home school applicants For some admission requirements, you can write a test that meets the minimum requirements. When official transcripts from college-approved institutions cannot be used to meet entrance requirements for home schooled applicants, equivalency testing may be available for certificate or diploma programs. English as a Second Language applicants • Three years in an English-speaking high school in a country where English is a primary language (four years for Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing, Addictions: Treatment and Prevention, Pharmacy Technician. Study must be in Canada only for Pharmacy Technician). • A full year in an accredited postsecondary program in an English-speaking country where English is the primary language (not applicable to Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing, Addictions: Treatment and Prevention, Pharmacy Technician). Visit GeorgianCollege.ca/admissions/academic-regulations/ for details. • Must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or Canadian provincial equivalent) and English credit (Grade 12 U, M or C) issued by a public or Catholic school board (not applicable to Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing, Pharmacy Technician and Addictions: Treatment and Prevention) • Provide proof of graduation from one of the authorized Georgian College partner school pathway programs (not applicable to Pharmacy Technician). • Must have completed three years of study at a secondary private school in Ontario and received an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and English credit (Grade 12 U, M or C) You may be eligible for admission into English for Academic Purposes, a preparatory program. Georgian degree applicants You'll need at least six U- or M-level high school credits, including one English and mathematics course (not applicable to mature applicants). Mature applicants must meet prerequisite course requirements: e.g. English and mathematics at a Grade 12 U level Visit ontariocolleges.ca to apply for Georgian degrees. Partner degree applicants If you're enrolling in a Lakehead-Georgian degree-diploma, or degree program offered by a partner institution at a Georgian campus, visit that institution's website for admission requirements.
