WHAT YOU NEED TO GET IN Admission requirements are different for each program. Find program-specific requirements online at GeorgianCollege.ca/full-time-programs. You'll also need to take the following steps to get into Georgian: STUDENT CATEGORY BASIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS High school students You need to complete your high school diploma. If you receive a conditional acceptance, make sure you meet requirements before starting at Georgian. Requirements could include passing courses, maintaining your grades, and more. If you don't obtain your high school diploma, visit GeorgianCollege.ca/ACP to check out Georgian's Academic and Career Preparation program. Mature applicants If you'll be 19 years of age or older as of the first day of classes at Georgian and don't have a high school diploma, you can apply as a mature student. Here are ways you may meet requirements: • Complete your Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) or your Ontario High School Equivalency (GED) certificate through Georgian's Academic and Career Preparation program. Visit GeorgianCollege.ca/ACP for details (not applicable to degrees). • Take courses at an Independent Learning Centre or another learning site recognized by the Ministry of Education. • Take an English or math equivalency test through GeorgianCollege.ca/testing-services (not applicable to degrees). • Take equivalent credit courses at Georgian or another recognized college or university. Applicants from postsecondary institutions If you've taken courses from another accredited postsecondary institution, you may meet admission requirements and be eligible for transfer credits. Visit GeorgianCollege.ca/gradcerts to learn more. English Language Proficiency The language of instruction at Georgian College is English. In addition to the academic admission requirements, all applicants for whom English is not their first language and/or are coming from countries where English is not an official language, must provide proof of language proficiency. Applicants must have ONE of the following criteria to meet Georgian's language proficiency requirements: • Must have completed three full years of study at a secondary school (high school) level in English in a country where English is a primary language (four years are required for BScN, Pharmacy Technician and Addictions: Treatment and Prevention. Study must be in Canada only for Pharmacy Technician) OR • Must have completed one full year of study in an accredited postsecondary program in English in a country where English is a primary language (not applicable for BScN, Pharmacy Technician and Addictions: Treatment and Prevention) OR • Must have an Ontario Secondary Diploma (or Canadian provincial equivalent) and English credit (Grade 12 U, M or C) issued by a public or Catholic school board (not applicable to BScN, Pharmacy Technician and Addictions: Treatment and Prevention) OR • Must provide proof of graduation from one of the authorized Georgian College partner school pathway programs (not applicable to BScN or Pharmacy Technician) OR • Must have completed three years of study at a secondary private school in Ontario and received an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and English credit (Grade 12 U, M or C) Note: International students applying through the Study Direct Stream (SDS) program from Antigua and Barbuda, Brazil, China, Columbia, Costa Rica, India, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Senegal, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, or Vietnam should note that the SDS IELTS requirements are 6.0 with no score less than 6.0 in any of the four bands. For programs listing a higher IELTS admissions. Priority for applicants will be given to those who meet SDS requirements. Visit the Canadian government website for a complete list of SDS requirements. If an applicant does not meet any of the above criteria, they will be required to submit an acceptable English language proficiency test with the appropriate score. Final admission will not be granted until this requirement has been met. English language test older than two years will not be considered.
