Undertake the foundational planning and the related work of being proactive in the college-wide responsibilities of addressing Truth and Reconciliation • Establish the E-Zhinoomaagejig (a group of people who show the way) Reconcili-action Guiding Circle made up of cross-sectional representation to undertake a deeper review of TRC Calls to Action and other guiding documents to identify action items to which specific departments can respond • Develop an internal guiding document that provides insights into various ways in which college departments can actively participate in the process of Indigenization, decolonization and reconciliation OBJECTIVE ACTION ITEMS In response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Call to Action #16, prioritize Indigenous language preservation • Review access to the Anishnaabemowin Program Development program to consider lived experience and traditional knowledge acquisition • Re-evaluate the decision-making criteria to ensure the Anishnaabemowin Program Development program is delivered annually • Expand Indigenous language learning opportunities across all college campuses Increase the level of awareness among Georgian employees of their responsibilities to reconciliation, decolonization and Indigenization • Assess how to embed Indigenization across the college in collaboration with senior leaders • Develop college-wide Indigenous quality assurance standards • Implement a phased roll out of the 4 Seasons of Reconciliation learning modules for Georgian employees Proactively engage with partners to develop reciprocal relationships supporting reconciliation • Develop and implement a plan for the college's approach to partners/collaborators based on reciprocity and reconciliation • Work with the Partner Relationship Management Committee to identify potential partners INDIGENIZATION STRATEGY | LET'S MOVE FORWARD TOGETHER GeorgianCollege.ca 13
