These professional development courses are intended for individuals who already have their OMVIC certification and are registered with OMVIC. No application required Professional Association Automotive – OMVIC Certification OMVIC's certification course covers the laws, regulations and practices governing the purchase, sale and lease of motor vehicles in Ontario. This course is mandatory for those individuals looking to pursue registration with OMVIC. There is a thorough explanation of the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act (MVDA) (the key statute governing the registration of dealers and salespersons) and the role of the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC) in the administration of that Act. Students study MVDA, general regulations, Code of Ethics regulations, key principles of the Sales of Goods Act, Consumer Protection Act, MVDA advertising, contracts, disclosure and rescission. Individuals who pass the course and become registered with OMVIC may use the designation CALE – Certified in Automotive Law and Ethics.
