The program focuses on prevention and verbal de-escalation techniques, and offers proven strategies for safely managing anxious, disruptive and violent behaviour. COMS 0015 | 6 HRS Fee: $124.50 PeriAnesthesia Nursing In this course, registered nurses (RNs) and registered practical nurses (RPNs) learn the standards of practice in PeriAnesthesia Nursing in order to provide high quality anesthetic care to patients. RNs and RPNs practice nursing processes, decision-making, critical thinking and inquiry while learning the preoperative and postoperative phases of recovery. Anesthetic agents and post anesthesia complications are explored. Must be an RN or RPN and provide College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) license number upon registration. For out-of-province RNs or RPNs completing this course please note that this course is based on the Standards of PeriAnesthesia Nursing Practice in Ontario. Out-of-province RNs or RPNs must provide nursing license number from their province's nursing regulatory body upon registration. HSCI 0246 | 42 HRS Fee: $328.02 RPN Coronary Care Registered practical nurses explore anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system, associated disease processes, basic cardiac arrhythmias, risk factors and aspects of teaching clients proper cardiac care. Must be a registered practical nurse and provide CNO license number upon registration. HSCI 0119 | 42 HRS Fee: $328.02 Rhythm Interpretation Students acquire the comprehensive knowledge and skills required to accurately interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias. Students will build on entry-to-practice knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the heart, thorax and lungs, and peripheral vascular system. Students learn to interpret, evaluate, and respond to pertinent diagnostic data in a timely and appropriate manner. Prerequisite: College of Nurses Ontario (CNO) license.
