Teaching and Training Adults − Module 4: Teaching and Training Methods This module identifies the importance of selecting teaching and training methods that relate to learning outcomes, content and assessment. Varying teaching and training methods will facilitate the needs of diverse learners and provide appropriate learning opportunities for adult learning. Learners in this course will identify and apply several different teaching and training methods for use in the classroom and workplace. TATA 0026 | 6 HRS l Fee: $225 Teaching and Training Adults − Module 5: Assessing Learning This module will reinforce the importance of aligning learner assessment with learning outcomes. Learners will apply assessment concepts and strategies suitable for different styles of learning. Assessment methods will measure achievement of the Teaching and Training Adults program learning outcomes. TATA 0027 | 6 HRS l Fee: $225 Teaching and Training Adults − Module 6: Micro Teaching Clinic In a collegial environment, learners will apply their learning from previous courses by teaching a short lesson to their peers. Participants will also: submit a lesson plan, provide feedback to each other about the teaching and learning process, act as facilitators and assistants, and engage in self-reflection for continuous growth. TATA 0028 | 6 HRS l Fee: $225 TEACHING AND TRAINING ADULTS (electives) GeorgianCollege.ca/PTTATA Teaching and Training Adults − Coaching This module examines the principles and techniques of coaching and their application in the workplace and the classroom. Learners will be introduced to a practical coaching model. TATA 0032 | 6 HRS l Fee: $225 Teaching and Training Adults − Developing a Course or Training Plan Learners will engage in an instructional design process to develop course or workshop. Key instructional design elements will be addressed and applied. TATA 0034 | 6 HRS l Fee: $225 Teaching and Training Adults − Facilitation Skills Facilitation Skills is a process that contributes structure to interactions so groups are able to function effectively and have richer conversations. With its focus on asking instead of telling, listening and building consensus, facilitation is the essential skill for anyone working collaboratively with others. This module will explore facilitation roles and demonstrate facilitation techniques. TATA 0035 | 6 HRS l Fee: $225 Teaching and Training Adults − Group Process Learners will develop skills to facilitate co-operative learning and group process in an instructional environment; identify and analyze techniques to work effectively with groups; and apply positive communication skills that encourage active participation in group settings. TATA 0029 | 6 HRS l Fee: $225 Teaching and Training Adults − Learning Online This module introduces participants to methods and strategies for selecting online tools and applications to support learning. Learners will gain hands-on experience using tools that are free and accessible. Registration for this module will close 48 hours prior to commencement. TATA 0036 | 6 HRS l Fee: $225 Teaching and Training Adults − Engaging the Multi-Generational Classroom Today's adult learners bring a variety of backgrounds and experiences to the classroom. This module examines the implications of a multi-generational classroom on learning and development. Practical applications for engaging each generation of learner will be discussed and demonstrated. TATA 0037 | 6 HRS l Fee: $225 Teaching and Training Adults − Tools for Teaching and Training This course introduces learners to a variety of tools, ranging from the traditional to the latest technologies that can be used to enhance teaching techniques used in the instructional process. Emphasis will be placed on the appropriate selection and use of these tools.
