COLLEGE ANNOUNCEMENT
Having all four years of the program offered at the
Barrie and Owen Sound campuses will ensure access
and equity for those living in this region. Local students
will learn here, make contacts through placements in
our communities, and stay to work.
To provide a sector-leading educational experience in
Barrie and Owen Sound, Georgian is investing more
than $10 million to renew its facilities, purchase state-
of-the-art equipment, transform technology, renovate
key learning spaces, foster student success and fund
essential community-based research.
The Frontline Support: Health-care Heroes Closer to
Home campaign will unite the support of individuals,
corporate partners, local governments and foundations
to raise more than $3 million in support of the project.
The next generation of nurses in Central Ontario will be able to take all four years
of their Honours Bachelor of Science - Nursing (BScN) degree closer to home.
The Honourable Jill Dunlop, Minister of Colleges and Universities, announced
that Georgian can begin offering all four years of the BScN in September
2022, at media events on Oct. 7 (in Barrie) and Nov. 5 (in Owen Sound).
Community investment is needed to develop the next
generation of nurses for this region, from prospective
students to professional health-care leaders – nurses who are
patient-centred, community-focused, innovative and future-
ready – nurses of tomorrow.
Visit the Frontline Support site to learn more.
