26 26 MEET OUR RECRUITMENT TEAM | GeorgianCollege.ca Jason Duffy, Recruitment Specialist | Midland, Muskoka and Orillia campuses A proud Georgian grad, Jason loves helping students to navigate their postsecondary options and find the right program fit. He's worked in several roles at Georgian, starting in 2002 as a co-op student in the Office of the Registrar. He's also worked for local hockey teams. A dad of two energetic young children and a goldendoodle, you'll often find Jason at a local ski resort, trail or lake with his family. He's also a big fan of lunches at The Den restaurant, at the Orillia Campus. Stephen Fennell, Sr. Recruitment Specialist Stephen is convinced he has the best job in the world. Well, maybe second best. Had his musical abilities allowed it, he would have made a great rock star. But he likes to think of his job as connecting with groups of students instead of groups of concert-goers. He's been in his role for more than 30 years and still loves to travel across the province to share what makes Georgian exceptional. Stephen is also a devoted father and husband, avid golfer, dog lover, and certified level 3 ski instructor. Kailey Hawkins, Recruitment Specialist | Orangeville, Owen Sound and South Georgian Bay campuses Kailey graduated from Georgian in 2008 and liked it so much she decided to stay and help future students discover what makes it special. She loves the heart all staff put into their work. In her spare time, Kailey plays several musical instruments, flexes her culinary skills (her current interest is sourdough starters) and keeps up with her corgi, Prince Jeffrey. She also co-hosts a radio show and volunteers for the Summerfolk Music and Crafts Festival in her beloved Owen Sound. Sylvia Lauterbach, Recruitment Specialist What Sylvia loves most about her job is connecting with students who reach out to Georgian through recruitment, then bumping into them on campus months later and hearing that they love their programs. She was an employment consultant for Georgian for many years and is passionate about connecting people to careers. Sylvia enjoys cross-country skiing, cycling, paddleboarding, and walking along Kempenfelt Bay in Barrie. She also has a talent for planning trips and has been to some amazing places all around the world. Ashley Lacourciere, Community Liaison Officer | Indigenous Services Ashley's favourite part of her job is being able to get out into Indigenous communities. She gets to connect with people and share information about opportunities and possibilities available through Georgian. She's a teacher by trade and is happy to have worked in higher education for the past few years. In her spare time, she beads to connect to herself, her ancestors, and her culture. Joe Lauzon, Marketing Officer | Automotive Business School of Canada Joe has a passion for education and the impact it can have on our lives and in society. He's also a sports enthusiast. He grew up playing competitive baseball and hockey and continues to keep fit with running and rec teams. Over the past six years, Joe has developed a passion for the automotive industry's leading-edge companies, lucrative careers and strong community. Joe's favourite car growing up was the Shelby Cobra.
