PART-TIME AND ONLINE CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS CONTACT US − 705.722.5149 coned@georgiancollege.ca REGISTER ONLINE GeorgianCollege.ca/continuingeducation This certificate is available to all students who want to improve their effectiveness as writers in business, government or industry. Clear communication with external and internal audiences contributes to the success of small and large organizations, non-profit agencies and government institutions. Courses will emphasize critical, analytical and strategic communications skills needed to be successful. Certificate completion requires six courses, two mandatory and four optional. COMMUNICATION STUDIES PROGRAM CODE: COMS CERTIFICATE Georgian application required This program will enhance the knowledge and skill set of individuals who work or volunteer in corrections, law enforcement, security, women's shelters, human services, youth at risk, or individuals who have a special interest in criminal psychology and behaviour. The program explores why individuals become criminals and why individuals are attracted to those with deviant behaviours. The program also explores factors that research suggests underlie criminal behaviours. CRIMINAL PSYCHOLOGY AND BEHAVIOUR PROGRAM CODE: CPSY CERTIFICATE No application required 7 This program offers professionals with current related experience an opportunity to gain valuable professional development in a convenient and flexible online format. Students in this program gain knowledge to assist their work with infants, children or adolescents with mental health challenges. Courses will focus on the developmental process, understanding mental health and associated behaviours, risk factors and triggers, the identification of behaviours and symptoms, family relationships, and intervention and prevention strategies.
