MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION – HEALTH RECORDS
PROGRAM CODE: MDTR
This program provides students with the essential elements of medical science, communications skills and transcription techniques.
Students gain the theoretical and practical knowledge required to meet the needs of the medical community for skilled medical
transcriptionists. Students work with case studies to apply theoretical knowledge to the accurate transcription of complex medical reports
and correspondence generated by a variety of medical specialties.

GAS TECHNICIAN
PROGRAM CODE: GAST
This program, offered evenings and weekends, provides the theoretical and practical skills required to obtain the Technical Standards and
Safety Authority (TSSA) Gas Technician III (G3) and Gas Technician II (G2) certifications. Students will gain the knowledge required to work
in the gas service industry. This program blends theory and practice and prepares students to write the provincial TSSA exams.

In this pathway program, students are introduced to the humanities and social sciences while building essential skills for employment.
With an emphasis on critical thinking and analytical skills, students develop the academic skills and abilities to continue their studies
at the college or university level. While in the program, students gain skills and confidence, learn how to thrive in a postsecondary
environment, and make informed decisions about their career path.
