The Georgian College Alumni Association was the first contributor to phase two of the Power of Education. After making
a generous $500,000 commitment to phase one of the campaign, the Alumni Association committed an additional
$275,000 to phase two which funded new videoconferencing equipment across all seven Georgian campuses.
Among the association's strategic priorities is supporting key areas of growth and development, and this commitment
provided significant benefits to students, including:
• Learning opportunities offered through two-way communication forums
• Interaction with faculty and students worldwide
• The opportunity to participate in virtual field trips around the world to support learning objectives
• The ability to pool resources and provide courses which could not otherwise be offered due to low enrolment at
individual campuses
• A reduction in the need for inter-campus travel
