The centre is a leading example of sustainable building construction and energy efficient design. Features include:
• rooftop solar panels, a micro-grid display room
• building automation control system and geothermal ground source heating and cooling technology
• LED lighting, thermal pane glass
Featuring computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and geographic information
system (GIS) labs, the Peter B. Moore Advanced Technology Centre is also home to the region's only anechoic
chamber for measuring sounds or electromagnetic waves emitted by a device. The Alectra Centre for Research,
Innovation and Commercialization is enabling Georgian to push the boundaries of innovation and discovery, and
accelerate the economic growth and prosperity of our economy. Donor investment has enabled a number of
ground-breaking collaborative research and development projects with industry; provided experiential learning
opportunities for students and helped the college attract a new $2-million national research grant.
