"I am very thankful to Georgian College for the support I received through the Awards
and Scholarships program. The financial support that was given so generously by donors
allowed me to focus on my studies while continuing to be an involved parent and an
active community volunteer. I graduated from Georgian's Social Service Worker program
earlier this year, and am looking forward to using the knowledge and skills that I received
to make a positive impact in my community. My dream was made possible by donor

"Imagine being a single mother trying to break the cycle of poverty while having to
choose between paying tuition or feeding her child. Imagine being the first female in
your family to go to postsecondary school, while working multiple low-paying jobs and
having to choose between paying rent or buying a textbook.
I believe that everyone deserves a chance at a postsecondary education, and the
opportunity to earn a good wage. That's why I started the WOMEN'S inTUITION
Campaign. I wanted to give these women an opportunity to shape their future, increase
their income potential and realize their academic and career aspirations."
