The John and Eileen Holland Study Lounge was created with a $100,000 donation from John Holland and officially
unveiled in 2016. Holland, one of the founding members of the Automotive Business School of Canada (ABSC), continues
to share his industry expertise through his work with the ABSC Board of Directors.
The automotive industry also supported the renovation project. In 2016, the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association
(CADA), in collaboration with its provincial associations, made a $250,000 gift to transform the ABSC lobby at the Barrie
Campus into a space that mirrors a modern dealership showroom. ABSC students can now learn in an industry-relevant
space that features an interactive SMART board showcasing the history of the automotive industry, jobs available in
automotive dealerships and automotive-related news.
That same year, the Aftermarket Business Lounge was created with a $250,000 donation from the Automotive Industries
Association (AIA). The lounge is a dedicated space for students to work on collaborative projects and to learn more
about the automotive aftermarket. Features include staged seating, a pop-up media screen that can be used for student
presentations and demonstrations, and a SMART board loaded with information specific to the AIA and automotive
aftermarket industry.
