Six months after you graduate and again two years later, you'll be contacted by Forum Research Inc. to comment on your satisfaction as a Georgian graduate and your career success. This Ministry-led, province-wide phone survey of college graduates, known as the Key Performance Indicators – Graduate Satisfaction ALUMNI: TELL US HOW YOU'RE DOING Survey, is a quick way for you to provide us with an update on your status. You may have completed a similar student survey during your studies at Georgian. All information gathered is confidential. It's important to ensure that your phone number is accurate in our records and that you accept the call. You can keep your alumni contact information up-to-date at GeorgianCollege.ca/alumni. Your feedback can help shape Georgian's future, so we can continue to meet the needs of our students and alumni. THE GIVING PORTRAIT Four Georgian students came together this past year to develop The Giving Portrait, an event designed to bring low-income families and individuals into Georgian's new state-of-the-art photography studio at the downtown Barrie location photography studio to participate in complimentary photography sessions. The event began as a project for a photographic business practice course, but for Kim Annand, Emma Morrone, Cobi Sharpe and Joseph Smith, it quickly became an opportunity to help capture some of life's most cherished milestones in a meaningful way. "We wanted to give the residents of our communities a helping hand," says Emma, noting that the sessions captured everything from high school graduations, a wedding engagement, family portraits and even beloved family pets. The students secured sponsors to support the project. HP supplied printers, ink and paper for portrait printing and Henry's donated USB devices so the clients could each receive a collection of photos. Sobel Adjusting Solutions Inc. provided sponsor support to the event, and the students donated their time and talent. Today, the students have graduated and joined the Georgian alumni family, but hope to grow the initiative into an annual event. "They really took this assignment to heart," says Professor Terry Hrynyk. "This is why we're located downtown – to connect students with the community." Visit thegivingportrait.org to learn more.
